The Company Completed the Assessment of the Control Integrity Management System

On September 16, Control Integrity Management System (CIMS) assessment closing meeting was held in Quangang and Quanzhou by video conference.

OOP members Joost Emmen, Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Lin Xu and Zhao Tianxing attended the meeting. General Manager of each department, all members of CIMS assessment group, CIMS element advisors, administrators and control representative of each department attended the meeting.

OOP affirmed the assessment work and thanked all members of the assessment group for their hard work. As for the specific follow-ups, they required: first, manage the rectification items in a unified way, and assign responsible people and due time in the standard format. Second, report the specific gap closure action plan to OOP before the end of October. Third, follow up the progress of the gap closure action plan regularly, and report to Internal Control Committee.

This was the first CIMS assessment of the company, as well as one of the Top 10 tasks of the company in 2020. The purpose was to ensure effectiveness of CIMS, timely discover/ identify gaps and develop improvement items of the system, and continuously improve the overall control environment of the company.

To ensure smooth completion of the assessment, the control group of Finance Department initiated preparations for the assessment in early April. The lead of each assessment group actively organized and held pre-assessment meeting to understand and familiarize with the system documents in advance, clarify work division and the key points of assessment, and repeatedly communicated with the control group of Finance Department on the details and arrangements of the assessment, so as to advance field assessment successfully.

Through the assessment, the company not only fully understands the implementation of each CIMS element at current stage, but also provides a good opportunity for publicity, implementation and training. It deepens the members’ understanding of CIMS, and enables more employees to have a further understanding of CIMS. (Liu Siwei)
