The Company held the kick-off meeting for the second term of senior talent appraisal and appointment

 

To further study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the scientist forum, FREP held the second term senior talent appraisal and appointment meeting in the morning of September 15 to further carry forward the spirit of scientists, rely on technological progress, strengthen innovation and self-confidence, rely on strong professional and technical personnel, take the sense of urgency to perform political responsibility and historical mission, and implement the strategic requirements of strengthening the company with talents, speed up deployment and implementation of the company's project of strengthening the company with talents, and contribute to build a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness.

Company management Joost Emmen, Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Yang Hongbin, Lin Xu and Zhao Tianxing attended the meeting, as well as the members of the new Professional and Technical Personnel Appraisal Committee and the members of the discipline groups.

President Joost Emmen delivered a speech. He commented that the company carried out appraisal and appointment of senior talents according to the needs of production, operation and future development, through identify and recognize the capabilities and contributions of senior talents, give full play to their leading and exemplary roles, to solve practical issues in production and operation, transform innovative achievements into work practice, create value to the development of the company, and promote the company's scientific/ technological progress and innovation. He hoped that all units to create platforms for the talents’ growth, encourage employees to study professional skills, improve operating skills, further optimize the environment for talent development, and promote the coordinated development of employees and the company.

The company management Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Yang Hongbin, Lin Xu and Zhao Tianxing respectively put forward expectations to the second round senior talent appraisal and appointment. They required that, first, enhance the sense of responsibility and strictly perform duties in selecting high quality talents through fair, just and open procedures, and put quality before quantity; second, give full play to the role of senior talents, create opportunities for them to bravely shoulder important tasks, play their full strengths, and set models for young employees; third, keep strict assessment rules and spread positive energy. We should select capable ones, encourage employees to focus on leading technology in the industry, and create a competitive and cooperative atmosphere for the development of talents.

At the meeting, Lin Xu shared his observations in visiting Huawei and other famous private enterprises recently. Considering the technical issues in the company's production and operation, he stressed that the company must rely on scientific and technological progress and innovation to become a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness. Innovation should rely on a strong professional and technical team. Only when the company attaches importance to the development of professional and technical personnel, can we win in the fierce market competition.

Yuan Huadong, General Manager of HR & Admin Department, introduced the establishment of the second round Professional and Technical Personnel Appraisal Committee and the policy adjustments of the new version of the appraisal and appointment guidelines for senior professional and technical talents, and summarized the first round talents appraisal and appointment of the company.

On behalf of the functional departments, members of the discipline groups expressed their support for the introduction of the new policy. They were grateful to OOP and HR & Admin Department for the focus on the development of the talents team of each discipline. All functional departments would play a greater professional force in training talents for the company.

It was reported that the new adjustments in the new version senior professional and technical personnel policy of the company including: first, adhere to the principle that supervisors and above should not participate in the appraisal of senior talents, and expand the scope of operation skill posts. Second, pay more attention to the actual performance of the candidates and cancel the weight of papers. Third, adhere to dynamic management, i.e. appraise and appoint senior talents every year with in/ out mechanism. Fourth, specify in detail the important roles and responsibilities of the Professional and Technical Personnel assessment Committee and the discipline groups in the development of the talents team of the company.
