To understand current status of the energy efficiency of key energy using industries, on March 4, a research group led by Lin Pingping, Director of Energy Saving Section of Fujian Industry and Information Technology Department, visited the company to carry out a special research on energy saving and potential tapping. Lin Xu, Vice President of the company, accompanied the research.

Lin Pingping gave affirmation to the company for its efforts in energy efficiency benchmarking, energy saving and emission reduction of main units. She said that Fujian Province was a national ecological civilization pilot area. Petrochemical industry, as a high energy consuming industry, should improve their political awareness and take the efficient and sustainable development path combining potentials tapping and optimization. In next step, Fujian Industry and Information Technology Department would carry out the benchmarking and selection of the first batch of energy efficiency model enterprises, and the energy efficiency indicators of PP Unit and Aromatics Unit of FREP were at the top of the list. She hoped that the company would continuously optimize operation and work hard to win energy efficiency model company.

Lin Xu expressed gratitude to Fujian Industry and Information Technology Department for its care, guidance and support to FREP in production and operation, energy saving and emission reduction. He said that energy saving and consumption reduction were not only the requirements of the government, but also an important part of FREP in reducing cost and improving profit. During the 14th Five-Year Plan, the company would invest over 100 million RMB to implement a series of technical revamp projects for saving energy such as low temperature heat recovery of Aromatics Complex, which was expected to reduce energy consumption by more than 88,000 TCE per year. At the same time, we should optimize the master plan, carry out de-bottleneck revamp, and work hard to ensure energy efficiency of the main units takes leading position in the industry.

At the meeting, the two sides also exchanged ideas on the development trend of energy industry, new technologies for energy saving and emission reduction, and peak carbon dioxide emission.

The relevant personnel of government departments of Quanzhou City and Quangang District, management personnel of Technical & Planning Department and engineers of the energy team of the company participated in the meeting. (Pan Weijie)
