Sinopec Independent Directors Conducted a Survey at FPCL


  From February 24th to 28th, Wu Xiandong, Chen Yueming, Chen Bi, and Pan Zhengyi, independent directors of Sinopec Group, conducted a survey in Fujian. During their visit, they conducted field surveys at Gulei Petrochemical Company, the Gulei Phase II Project, and FREP. They listened to work reports and gained a detailed understanding of the enterprises' development plans, production and operations, safe and environmental protection, talent cultivation, and joint venture collaborations. Zhang Zheng, Director of Board Office and Deputy Director of General Management Department of the Sinopec Group Company, as well as Zhao Tianxing, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary of FPCL joined the survey.

  On February 25, the survey team arrived at Gulei Peninsula, where they gained a detailed understanding of the industrial distribution and planning layout within the Gulei Petrochemical Industrial Park. They went to the Central Control Room and the EVA unit of the Production Area and other areas, to learn about production operations, product structure, business performance, and cross-strait joint venture cooperation. The survey team also inspected the planned site for the Gulei Phase II Project, obtaining insights into the overall project planning and preliminary progress. The survey team fully commended the practical explorations and achievements made by Gulei Petrochemical Company in promoting the integrated development across the Taiwan Strait and in building a model enterprise for cross-strait integrated development.

  On February 26th, the survey team visited Quangang District, Quanzhou Municipality, conducting a field trip to the Exhibition Hall, Safety Culture Experience Center, and the Central Control Room of the Production Area of FREP. They gained insights into aspects such as safe and environmental protection, quality and profitability enhancement, industrial chain development, talent cultivation, and Sino-foreign joint venture cooperation. The team expressed appreciation and affirmation for the Company's achievements in integrating and drawing upon the management concepts and advanced experiences of its various shareholders.

  The survey team convened a work report meeting at the office building of FREP, where they listened to reports from FPCL and SSPC. The survey team noted that FPCL has consistently developed an investment management platform, boldly explored joint venture partnerships, and achieved a leap from “enterprise-local government cooperation to diversified collaborations including Sino-foreign and Mainland-Taiwan collaborations, as well as a shift from managing assets to managing capital”. These efforts have yielded substantial developmental results, making positive contributions to serving the nation's high-level opening-up and promoting local economic and social development.

  The survey team pointed out that FPCL is poised for sound development, experiencing a strategic development phase. The cadre and staff are full of vigor and high morale, demonstrating a commendable spirit and a "dare to strive and win" drive. It is hoped that FPCL will remain confident, seize opportunities, continuously consolidate and expand the advantages of joint venture partnerships, chart the course forward with a development vision, and steadily advance the Gulei Phase II project. It is hoped that the FPCL will place emphasis on strengthening technological innovation and the application of digital intelligence technologies, optimizing the product structure, improving the industrial chain, and enhancing the its core competitiveness. It is also hoped that the FPCL will proactively respond to complex and severe situations, continuously solidify the foundation of safe and environmental protection, deeply tap into the potential for operational efficiency, strive to build a world-class petrochemical industry base, and make preemptive moves and win the initiative in future market competitions.
