In this peak duel of knowledge and skills, they fully demonstrated the professional competence and prowess of petrochemical professionals.

Company leaders Zhang Xiguo, Lin Xu, Yang Fei, and Li Ji observed and guided the event on-site, presenting awards to winning teams and individuals.

Zhang Xiguo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Company, congratulated the units and individuals who achieved outstanding results and expressed gratitude to all staff who worked diligently to organize this competition. He pointed out that the first "Gold Medal Operator" Skills Competition of FREP was not only a systematic on-the-job training, an in-depth capability assessment, and a valuable accumulation of experience, but also a vivid practice and concrete measure for the Company to thoroughly implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the reform of the industrial workforce development, to carry out the strategy of "strengthening the enterprise with talents," and to cultivate a knowledge-based, skilled, and innovative industrial workforce. He emphasized that the competition should serve as an opportunity to solidify achievements, address shortcomings, continuously strengthen and optimize, making the "Gold Medal Operator" brand more prominent and its support more robust.

He put forward four requirements: first, adhere to systematic planning to achieve breakthroughs in expanding coverage breadth and deepening precise empowerment; second, deepen the integration of competition and training to promote improvement in perfecting the training system and innovating competition mechanisms; third, strengthen incentive guidance to establish a direction for cultivating skilled talents and promoting the craftsmanship spirit; fourth, build a long-term mechanism to achieve tangible results in the cycle of learning, practicing, competing, and evaluating, and in enhancing the skill level of the workforce.

In his speech, Acting President Lin Xu pointed out that the Company is currently at a critical stage of development. Whether it is ensuring stable and safe production operations or preventing and mitigating risks, everything ultimately relies on the implementation by a highly qualified, highly skilled, and battle-ready team of operators. The capability level of the skilled workforce is directly related to the "stable, safe, long-term, and optimal" operation of units, as well as to the Company's core competitiveness and high-quality development. He emphasized that, first, the award-winning contestants should cherish the honor, strive for further progress, and set an example in "passing on experience, helping others, and guiding newcomers"; second, all employees should emulate the exemplary, study diligently, practice assiduously, and strive to become role models in their respective positions; third, all departments and units should build platforms, improve mechanisms, and create fertile ground for talent development.
