FREP Starts Trial Piling for Ethylene Debottlenecking Revamping Project
June 12 of this year marked the 5th anniversary of FREP since its formal capital registration and operation. On the morning of the same day, the Company held the trial piling ceremony for the Ethylene Debottlenecking Revamping Project at the new plant site, and Mr. Lu Dong, Mr. Abdullah H. Al Sebail and Mr. Brian Ablett (members of the Company's Office of President) and Mr. Liu Yanchang (Operation General Manager) attended the ceremony.
The representative of the Seventh Construction Company of Fujian Province made a speech at the ceremony. He pointed out that the trial piling of the new cracking furnace is the first of its kind started in the production plant area for the Ethylene Debottlenecking Revamping Project and is also the highlight of the ethylene unit revamping. As the construction company, it will strengthen co-ordination, communication and cooperation with the Owner's teams and design & supervision companies and strengthen management, careful organization and construction in terms of project SSHE, QA/QC, progress, etc. so as to turn the project into a model of sincere cooperation of all parties. The leader from Chemicals-1 BT of Process Department also addressed at the ceremony.
In the celebrative sound of music, Mr. Lu Dong, the Company’s Chairman and President, gave the order to commence.
The pile foundation works was officially launched by the Contractor - Seventh Construction Company of Fujian Province.
Leaders and relevant staff from the Company's Process Department, Mechanical Department, Technical & Planning Department, HSE Department, Supply & Distribution Department and Project Management Group participated in the trial piling ceremony.
At present, the Company is in full swing to promote ethylene debottleneck and associated facilities project. The project feasibility study has been basically completed, the detailed design, long-lead equipment ordering and on-site construction will begin in June 2012, and it will take advantage of the periodic downtime turnaround 2013 of Refining and Ethylene Integrated Project to conduct plant expansion and revamp, and this work will be completed and put into test run by December 2013.
