EM AP Refining Director Mr. Gary Wilson’s Visit to FREP


From Sep 3 to Sep 4, EM AP Refining Director Mr. Gary Wilson paid a visit to FREP. Chairman and President Lu Dong, Vice Presidents Abdullah H. Al Sebail and Brian Ablett met with Mr. Wilson. The hosts and guests had talks in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.

First of all, on behalf of Office of President, President Lu Dong welcomed Mr. Wilson’s visit to the joint venture. He said that the JV is facing with greater pressure than expected due to market environment factors, and Office of President will make greater efforts to carry out various activities. Mr. Lu stated that we are highly concerned with the “5 key focused areas” and will push forward the construction of Ethylene De-bottlenecking Project with all strengths on the premise of ensuring safety, stability and benefit. Office of President will collaborate with the management and all employees to make joint efforts and commit to build FREP into a leading refining and chemical integrated enterprise in Asia, and repay the shareholders with maximum benefits; we expect great support and help from the shareholders. Finally, he appreciated Mr. Wilson’s visit, communication and exchange and transfer of the shareholder’s expectation.

Mr. Wilson stated that he enjoyed the communication and exchange with relevant personnel including BT managers and engineers etc during his visit. He noticed the obvious enhancement in HSE and efforts in OIMS system investigation and analysis to identify the root causes. He expected FREP to improve HSE performance continuously, take advantage of the scale of refining and chemical integration, and tap potential in gross margin, operation cost and reliability etc. In particular, improvement of energy efficiency is the advantage to participate in the market competition. He expected the shareholders to further strengthen cooperation to improve the performance and benefit etc continuously. In addition, he made recommendations on 2013 turnaround and revamp.

Mr. Wilson reviewed FREP performance, PIMS modeling and gross margin improvement, and had in-depth communication and exchange on implementation of operation integrity management system and improvement of business team effectiveness etc; he also listened to the report on preparation for 2013 turnaround and revamp.
