At 9:00 am on November 8, party members from each department got together at the video conference room of the Company, absorbed in watching the opening ceremony of the eighteenth national congress of CPC. Some off-duty employees watched the opening ceremony online or by television at home.

Party members were concentrated on listening to President Hu Jintao’s speech, learned the essence of it, exchanging a few words occasionally, in particular for understanding China’s economic and social development direction through the description of economic growth and how it guides petroleum and petrochemical enterprises to develop in a way expected and demanded by the country, the society and the people.

All the members agree that President Hu’s speech has truly summarized the inspiring performance of the last 5 years and the achievements of the last 10 years, proposed specific and practical work arrangements with inspiring goals for the next 5 years. Next, the Company will, in combination with the actual work of the Company, take the opportunity to learn, to promote and to follow the spirit of the 18^th national congress through, commit to build a leading integrated refining and petrochemical company in Asia, go all out to be strong, work hard, and celebrate the victory of 18^th national congress with better performance in safety and environment, production and operation as well.

After the opening ceremony, the Party Committee of the Company required that every department, organization shall organize all party members and all employees to learn the speech spirit carefully; collect more information about congress by reading newspapers, watching TV or listening to the radio; be concerned with news report on the 18^th national congress; transfer the concern into action to grasp the favorable opportunity of partially improved situation in petrochemical market and organize to achieve stable and high production of units; pay special attention to safety and environmental protection, present outstanding achievements to the 18^th national congress as a gift and devote every effort to the goal of the year with outstanding performance.
