Mr. Neil A. Chapman Chemical Senior Vice President of ExxonMobil Visited the Company
On Oct. 23, Mr. Neil A. Chapman, chemical senior vice president of ExxonMobil came to visit Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (FREP). Mr. Lu Dong Chairman and President, Mr. Abdullah H. Al Sebail Vice President and Mr. Brian Ablett Vice President met with Mr. Neil A. Chapman, and both parties held friendly talks.
Firstly, Mr. Lu Dong President on behalf of the company’s OOP expressed warm welcome for Mr. Neil A. Chapman. He said “As an old friend of FREP, Mr. Neil A. Chapman has devoted efforts to the early preparation of Fujian Refining & Ethylene Integrated Project, I would like to express my thanks to you.” He introduced briefly the situations on project construction, startup and operation. He stated that “Under great support of shareholders and joint efforts of all staffs, FREP’s chemical business takes the leading position in China, this is delightful. Due to the influence of international economic environment, the company always faces great pressure in oil refining: Office of President worked together with all staffs, transformed pressure into motivation, further optimized the project, gave full play to the advantages of refining & petrochemical integration, strengthened the energy cost control, and organized the implementation through the new structure of business team, these will be beneficial for better operation of chemical business.” Finally, he appreciated Mr. Neil A. Chapman for his high attention to the company’s chemical business, and expected him to visit FREP often in the future.
Mr. Neil A. Chapman stated that “We are so glad to visit your company; it is inspiring to witness the smooth construction, startup, production and operation, and controlled project quality and investment, which verifies that our strategic cooperation decision is correct. This is inseparable from the joint efforts of management and all staffs under the leadership of President Lu Dong. We are proud of the gratifying results that you have achieved. The company made profits in spite of difficulties and pressure faced in the present time, this is real ability.” He said that “I’m engaged in the chemical business for over 30 years, and witnessed the ups and downs of many chemical enterprises in the world. The difficulties faced with by the company are temporary, I hope that they will be over soon, we are confident about the future.” He expected that FREP could bring into play the scale advantages of refining & petrochemical integrated project, make continuous optimization to improve the performance, organize the implementation through new structure of business team, further strengthen the employees training, continuously tap the potential and improve the performance and profitability of chemical plant, so as to promote the company to rank the leading position in Asia. Finally, he said “We are looking forward to that moment the ethylene debottleneck and associated facilities project achieves success.”
Mr. Neil A. Chapman checked and reviewed the company’s performance, heard the reports on Ethylene Bottleneck and Revamp Project progress, and understood FREP marketing status in details. In addition, accompanied by Mr. Brian Ablett Vice President, he visited the Integrated Project Exhibition Hall, Central Control Room in the new plant area, and also the Production Unit Area.
