On December 17, the 20th anniversary for the establishment of Jinjiang City and the Meeting of Fellow Jinjiang Citizens from All over the World were held in Jinjiang Gymnasium. Former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of NPC, Xu Jialu, former Vice Chairman of National Committee of CPPCC, Luo Haocai, Deputy Director of Fujian Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee, Zhuang Xian, Deputy Governor of Fujian Province, Chen Rongkai and other leaders attended the opening ceremony.

In the congress, domestic and overseas people who have made important contribution to the charity and public welfare undertakings were awarded the title of Jinjiang “Honorary Citizen”. Vice President of our Company, Mr. Abdullah H. Al Sebail, also won the title of Jinjiang “Honorary Citizen”.

The Party Secretary of Jinjiang City, Chen Rongfa, Mayor of Jinjiang City, Liu Wenru awarded the “Honorary Citizen” certificate and badge to Abdullah H. Al Sebail and others, 16 in total, to commend their contribution to Jinjiang’s economic and social development, and promote the city attraction, inclusiveness and competitiveness of Jinjiang.

After the meeting, leaders attending the meeting and special guests enjoyed the theatrical performances of “Love in Jinjiang” with audience together. More than 1500 overseas Chinese from 27 countries and regions in the world attended the activity. Jinjiang City of Fujian Province is the famous hometown of overseas Chinese, main origin of Taiwan compatriots. More than 2.1 million overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots are distributed in more than 60 countries and regions in five continents around the globe with the most of them in South-east Asia.

Reportedly, those who won the title of Jinjiang “Honorary Citizen” were mainly people having made great contribution to Jinjiang but without Jinjiang household registration, including foreigners, overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macao Special Administration Region residents and Taiwan compatriots. People winning the title of “Honorary Citizen” must meet the following requirements, i.e. having made important contribution to the economic and social development, and democratic and legal construction of Jinjiang City; being enthusiastic in the social welfare and charity in Jinjiang City and having made great contribution to that; having made great contribution to safeguard national, collective benefits and people’s life and property safety; having made great contribution to promote cross-strait exchange and reunification of the motherland; and having made great contribution to promote international exchange and cooperation in Jinjiang City.
