President Lu Dong’s Delegation Visited Headquarters of Exxon Mobil Refining and Chemical and Supply Company


From June 11 to 14, at the invitation of Exxon Mobil Corporation, President Lu Dong led a delegation to America and they successively visited the headquarters of Exxon Mobil Corporation, Baytown Refining Plant, Chemical Industry Research Center and headquarters of Refining and Supply Company. FREP vice president Brian Ablett, technical advisor Zhao Liping and responsible persons of Process Department, Mechanical Department, Technical and Planning Department, Financial Department and COOP and etc accompanied.

During the visit, the delegation was highly concerned and warmly received by Exxon Mobil Corporation. At Exxon Mobil Corporation Baytown Integration Plant and Chemical Industry Research Center, the delegation discussed with management personnel of Exxon Mobil Corporation and widely exchanged opinions with them on refining-petrochemical integration process, main product businesses, organization structure, management of safety and change, TA management, project implementation and management mode etc., meanwhile, the delegation also paid an on-the-spot visit to the refining and chemical production unit, central control room in Baytown Plant and experiment apparatus and devices of chemical industry research institute.

At the headquarters of Exxon Mobil Corporation, the delegation discussed with Senior Vice President Neil Chapman and vice president Paul Hanson of Exxon Mobil Chemical Company. Relevant members of the delegation respectively introduced work of 5 KFAs, financial condition and financing progress of ethylene de-bottleneck of FREP in 2013; management of Exxon Mobil Chemical Company introduced the experience on optimization of global feedstock and utilization model to the delegation. During the discussion, president Lu Dong, vice president Brian Ablett also met with President Steve Pryor and Vice President Lynne M Lachenmyer and both parties exchanged opinions on their respective concerned issues.

In headquarters of Exxon Mobil Refining and Supply Company, the delegation also communicated with President Darren Wood, Vice President Chris Erickson and other management personnel. The global project management manager of Exxon Mobil made a key introduction on the safety management, especially in respect of contractor management, OMIS system implementation and risk management procedures etc. The delegation also introduced the business plan, financial condition and financing situation of FREP in 2013. President Darren Wood expressed his concern to the financial condition of FREP and in respect to when the Chinese government would grant complete integration of price of refined oil products. Both parties also discussed other issues they concerned.

In short 4 days, the delegation had an effective discussion with top management of Exxon Mobil Chemical, Refining and Supply Company and made harvest in many aspects. First, through this visit, the delegation thanked Exxon Mobil shareholder for its support and consolidated relationship with the shareholder; second, the delegation introduced and communicated on the business progress and development strategy of FREP and gave a new awareness to top management of the shareholder; third, the delegation experienced the enterprise culture of Exxon Mobil “devotion, meticulousness, standardization and high efficiency” and enterprise prospect of “global change by energy”, “building the biggest power of global petrochemical industry”; fourth, the delegation learnt the advanced experience and best practice of the shareholder in safety, optimization and project management etc. to ensure to comprehensively complete various objective tasks of FREP in 2013 in combination with the KFAs of FREP.
