FREP 2^nd Innovation Awards Ceremony was held in the Exhibition Hall on the afternoon of 17^th Jan. FREP Chairman and President Mr. Lu Dong and Vice President Mr. Brian Ablett were present at the Awards Ceremony, and presented trophies and certificates of merit to winner representatives of 2^nd Innovation Day initiative, hoping FREP staff will continue to come up with more innovative “golden ideas” and proactively make contributions to FREP scientific development. The Awards Ceremony was chaired by Mr. Joe Francis, FIN GM.

Representatives for final 14 entries made statements and answered the questions by site judges.

President Mr. Lu Dong commended the 2^nd Innovation Day initiative is a good carrier and effective platform for people to offer advice and suggestions, centered on Five Key Focus Areas. We have employees who pay attention to and discuss how to improve benefit, plant reliability, etc. and are willing to put forward their thoughts and take actions and efforts. It is a way to pool wisdom. It demonstrates the healthy environment and positive energy of the Company. Thanks to them for their contributions. 

He emphasized that we shall put more efforts to transform “golden ideas” into “golden keys” that will boost the scientific development of our company. Granting great awards to “golden ideas” is to motivate employees to the utmost to give advice and suggestions for scientific development of the Company, such that extensive innovative ideas from employees could be timely incorporated into OOP and Management decision-makings. After relevant departments sharpened ideas, they will be presented to the Company Management for study. Make “golden ideas” a practical means to promote building a leading-edge integrated refining and petrochemical company in Asia and building a beautiful FREP home together.

Lai FanRong, the 1^st prize winner of Innovation Day initiative, delivered the acceptance speech, saying it is an incentive and encouragement for me to obtain this prize. I’m more confident in energy saving and cost reduction work. In the future, I will work together with my Energy Team colleagues to make relentless efforts in improvement of energy efficiency by combining the real situation of process units.

The 2^nd Innovation Day activities lasted for half a year, when FREP employees gave thoughts and suggestions proactively, centering on Five Key Focus Areas. With enthusiastic participation, working team of Innovation Day Committee received altogether 178 ideas and 14 ideas were picked out and entered final assessment. The final winners and winning ideas were generated by secret ballot of the judges in the site.
